Yesterday, George and I spent about an hour talking about my upcoming trip to DC. While it is still a month away, we wanted to talk about our plans and what we wanted to see/do during the weekend trip. Obviously, seeing as it was George and me talking, the central theme of our discussion was food. This is evident in the itinerary that I came up with for the trip. (See below). For those of you that have not had the joy of traveling with me, itineraries structured around food and restaurants are pretty standard. This particular itinerary is not just structured around food, it is dominated by our eating plans and we may end up eating 4+ meals a day. What can I say, I love food and may be a bit crazy. My only defense is that this is likely my last trip to Georgetown for the foreseeable future. Enjoy...
Jeannie’s Last Trip to Georgetown. I am :( but also :)
A weekend of food, fun, basketball, and time with the Bear.
Friday, 2/25/11
5:15: Jeannie arrives on Air Tran flight from Milwaukee
6:00: Snack at Pizza Paradiso
8:00: Dinner at Hook-Yummy and a potentially light meal since it is fish (at least that is what I am going to tell myself since we will have just eaten pizza and beer 2 hours earlier)
Post dinner: hang out with G-man
Saturday, 2/26/11
11:00: Meet at Tombs and eat fast-BBQ pork and chocolate milkshake. I am going to miss our lunches at Tombs, not quite as much as Molly’s in Hanover but it is close. At least, I will have a t-shirt to remind me of all the great food and memories.
11:45: Shuttle to game
12:00: Georgetown vs. Syracuse
2:15: Ben’s Chili Bowl (walk or public transportation)…Hmm, I want a tomb’s milkshake but also want a Ben’s Chili Bowl milkshake. This presents a large scale dilemma. Maybe if we walk the 2 miles, I will not feel guilty about 2 milkshakes in one day…This will need to be a game time decision.
3:15: Back to Georgetown to walk around or rest at hotel
7:30ish: Dinner at either Rosa Mexicana or the authentic Spanish place
Sunday, 2/27/11
10:00ish: Breakfast if George wants to get it
11:45: Jeannie to pick up a salad at the place near hotel
12:15: Jeannie to get a cab to go to the airport
3:15: Flight back to Milwaukee
After further review, it is obvious that this trip is focused on food and hitting all our favorite restaurants. Hopefully, I will be able to button my pants on the way home…If not there are always sweatpants. Enjoy the itinerary and let me know if we should make any changes or additions.
Love, J
