The Best of the Weekend

Per the suggestion of one of my devoted readers, I have decided to implement a new feature on my blog. Each Monday I will post a write up that will document the best event, moment, activity, and/or thought of the previous weekend. If any of you listen to Dan Patrick’s morning sports radio show you will likely recognize this feature. Every Monday DP asks the Danettes, who are the four guys that help with the show, to describe the “best” of their weekend. These guys will talk about anything from sporting events to movies to their personal lives. FYI: if you do not listen to the Dan Patrick Show already, I would highly suggest it. It is on 1070 am or Fox Sports on XM radio and airs from 8:00-11:00 am. He can really get you through a slow morning and it is not just about sports. Alright here goes my best of the weekend:

I had a nice relaxing, yet productive weekend and I would have to say that three events tied for my best of the weekend. They were all equally great so disregard the order. First, Sunday dinner with my Gram, Laura, and Kris was fantastic! We grilled out steaks and played euchre and the WII. It is always nice to have my Gram over and return the favor for the countless meals/snacks she has made for me. Second, the backsplash tile that Kris installed turned out fabulous. He still has to grout it, but the tile really adds another dimension to my kitchen. I am slightly obsessed with the new look and can’t wait for everyone to see Kris’ tiling skills. It is probably a little weird to admit this but I have caught myself just rubbing the tile a few times. Lastly, the fabulous pre-Spring weather was another ‘best”. Friday night we were able to walk to and from dinner and the Comedy Club. Then, Laura and I went on a great walk Saturday afternoon in search of the perfect sandwich. We stopped at three different places before settling in at the Local Tavern for a grilled cheese and cheeseburger respectively. Madison is such a fun city to walk around with the capital, shops, trails, and lakes. I am looking forward to many more walks this spring and summer.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and feel free to share your “bests” below!

Be happy,

The Bean Spiller
